General Consulate of Angola in Houston-Texas

The Consulate General of Angola in Houston has officialy started business in 2001. The inception of this office was the implementation of the Angolan government’s decision to extend its consular representation to other parts of the vast United States of America territory.

The Angolan Consulate Office covers nine US States, stretching from Southeastern through Southwestern United States, including Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and California.

  • Authentication of Documents

    The Consulate General in Houston offers authentication services for the following documents:

  • Birth Registration

    All citizens born of Angolan parents, or born of Angolan mother or father may obtain an Angolan birth registration.

  • Consular Registration

    The Consular Registration is a voluntary act, initiated by the individual interested in such registration, which will be processed by the Consulate.

  • Entry Visa Requests

    Legal status of a foreign citizen in the Republic of Angola has, since 2007, been governed by new legislation, Law #02/07, named “Legal Status of Foreign Nationals in the Republic of Angola”.

  • Marriage

    A marriage is the voluntary union between a man and a woman, formalized in the terms of the law with the objective of establishing a life in common.

  • Military Census

    The Military Census is a mandatory act for all Angolan citizens of the masculine gender, and it takes place the year the citizen completes 18 years of age.
